How to make Ham and Tomato Sandwiches

HAM AND TOMATO SANDWICHES

Cast on  14 stitches of cream  double knit 100% acrylic wool.  Knit 25 rows then cast off.  The ends were sewn in to give a neat appearance using a wool needle.

The ham slice was made by casting on 26 stitches, knitting  2 rows, then neatly casting off.

The tomato slices were made by casting on 12 stitches and knitting 1 row.  The yarn was broken off and thread through all the stitches on the knitting needles.  It was then pulled up and gathered tightly and then fastened off.  The ends were sewn in.

The ham was glued in place using multi purpose glue, across two sides and a corner then held in place by pins.  Once fully dry the pins were removed.

The tomato pieces were

also glued and pinned in place.  Once again, when dry the pins were removed.

Glue was spread on the two interior edges of the bread piece, folded over to make a triangle.  Five pins were used to hold in place until the glue had dried.  The pins were removed giving a ham and tomato sandwich.
