My final experimentation shall be an organza tea cup made up of strips of material and crocheted using a 9.0mm hook for the first 12 rows and then switch to a 7.0mm hook for one row, then switch back to the 9.0mm hook for a final row. I shall keep the original stitch count throughout the pattern except till the last two rows where I shall drop stitches to decrease the row and then catch them back up again on the row after to create a lip on the cup. The increased hook size should accommodate the thickness of the fabric as well as increase the size of the cup. From this I shall have 3 varying size cups of tea which can be weighed up against the hat to see which size fits. Below is the organza cup in varying stages of the process.
