Costume break down

The Wife of Bath's costume has been broken up into two halfs and now contains a tunic, skirt, belt and modesty wrap, which will also match the head wrap, the hat will be sourced by the supervisor.

The garments have become not only a outfit but also part of building the silhouette. It was decided during a tutorial with my unit leader that we would add pleats into the skirt to add volume and curve the tunic at the bottom (view design) which will make the actress look rounded. Rouching will be placed into the sides of the tunic and tied with brown leather thronging. The sleeves and centre front opening will also have ties in the same material.

All the materials used within the outfit will be as historically accurate as possible meaning a lot of wools, cottons and linens will be used as well as silks and furs. As my character is quite well off and flashes her wealth through her clothes, fur trim and velvet shall be used on the tunic.
